Practiques du Traduction au Moyen Age (Medieval Translation Practices)

Examples of the medieval practice of translating works into more than one language are described in the 18 essays of this proceedings, from a symposium held in October 2002 at the U. of Copenhagen. Among the topics are bilingualism of the Paris theologian Jean Gerson, development from the Greek of the word for stomach in Latin, translated words in the Dictionary of Old Danish, the translator of De Falconibus, and 14th and 15th-century translations of Troilus and Criseyde.
