Normal-appearing White and Grey Matter Damage in Multiple Sclerosis

MRI-visible damage is not sufficient to explain all the manifestations of multiple sclerosis, leading to the development of new methods of measuring and mapping damage. Topics on normal- appearing white matter include assessing its pathology, and measuring blood-brain barrier permeability, volume changes, magnetization transfer, the short T2 component, rapid whole-brain T1 relaxation time, and conducting diffusion-weighted imaging.
