Criminology has mainly developed from its original, dicothomous, anthropological and sociological roots. Recent use of theories, such as the Chaos Theory applied by Williams to the social deviant phenomena, Semiotic Theories used by Milanovic and Arrigo, and the development of new theories and approaches in every field of knowledge have brought different perspectives which have not only allowed us to go deeper into other subjects but also Criminology. But, more importantly, these theories have clarified the fact that criminality and deviance are complex phenomena which cannot be analyzed within previously limited frameworks. On the contrary Criminology needs multidisciplinary and integrated analyses and sophisticated methodologies.
