Outlining “imaginaries of change” in Latin America requires a careful analysis of current dynamics, which are themselves the result of more or less linear itineraries. This volume, based on the contributions presented by the speakers at the International Summer School on Religions in Europe (San Gimignano, 2012), provides us with a complete overview of the religious issue in Latin America, relating it to its historical roots, as well as to politics and to the emancipation of masses, whose awareness of their social and economic situation is often enhanced by the reflection on the religious phenomenon.
