The essay is about the killing of Italian magistrates Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, the murders committed by Italian mafia in the years 1993-1994 and, above all, the negotiation between Italian state and Cosa Nostra. The book does not deliver a ready-made truth: in fact, it offers three ‘certified' truths, different from one another. In these pages, the author examines the accounts of the three greatest trials about mafia, which were held in Florence, Palermo and Caltanissetta, trying to answer a major question: was there really a connection between institutions and organized crime in Italy?
