This volume is dedicated to the picture The Baptism of Christ , painted by Andrea del Verrocchio and Leonardo da Vinci between 1475 and 1478, and now housed in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.The author outlines the history of the painting, reconstructs the different steps of its execution and describes its ups and downs as from the earliest sources.The sharp analysis of the painting goes beyond the conventional features that made it become a crucial point in the history of art, and explores the contents, symbolic elements and narrative choices made by the artists.
