Istantanee d'epoca: Fotografia in Toscana (1920-1940)

This volume, introduced by a text of Marilena Tamassia on the history of photography in Tuscany, provides a thorough overview on amateur photography in the region, and in particular in Florence, during the twenties and thirties of the 20 th century. At the center of the analysis there are those people who, with great love for photography but also taste and technical expertise, made shots in their cities and environments, offering a precious documentation of the territory: their work has the merit of restoring lost perspectives, old faces and crafts. In the retrospective research of Daniela Cammilli local archives had a great importance: in those funds one can see the progress of photography in technical and aesthetic terms, but also the mutation of the environments and the evolution of social realities.
