After becoming secretary of the Italian Republican Party (P.R.I.) in 1979, a few months after Ugo La Malfa’s death, Giovanni Spadolini gives new birth to the «Voce Repubblicana» newspaper, previously closed due to economic reasons. The book collects all articles written by Spadolini for this political paper from 1981 to 1987. In his columns he cast a critical eye on many issues about Italian politics and economics, always raising critical questions, challenging the reader, and explaining the main problems of his country's development.
