The catalog of the exhibition held in Sesto Fiorentino from 26th March to 28th May 2017 focuses on the European figurative culture of the XVIII and XIX century, showing more than 400 graphical masterpieces - mostly engravings and illustrations from books and magazines. They reflect the idolatry of an era for the feminine universe, with its thousands sides and contradictions: artists such as Gustave Moreau, Aubrey Beardsley, Felicien Rops, Georges De Feure, Alfons Mucha, Max Klinger were often depicting woman as a myth, in images of esthetical and sensual delight, amplified and projected by literature, major and minor arts. Texts written by Lorenzo Falchi, Francesco Mariani, Emanuele Bardazzi, Bertrand Hugonnard-Roche, Ian Millman, Annalisa Proietti Cignitti, and Giulia Ballerini.
