Napoleone Colajanni (1847-1921) was an important Italian politician in the late nineteenth century. Lecturer and essayist, he was also the protagonist of important political battles, from the parliamentary inquiry on the campaign in Eritrea to the denunciation of the scandal of the Banca Romana. The essay shows the role he played in the province of Caltanissetta, an area where the political struggle was characterized by a plurality of collective subjects - democratic, republican, constitutional, socialist and Catholic.
