Tirari e Alzari: Construction Machines

“Tirari” e “Alzari” is the first volume in a collection whose aim is to examine in depth the engineering and scientific studies of Leonardo da Vinci. These were the terms used in the Middle Ages to identify systems for raising and moving large objects, such as machines for lifting columns and cranes, for lifting obelisks and winches, lifting devices and all those machines known and developed by engineers to help them carry out their profession.
