Access to Medicines and Vaccines in the South: Coherence of Rules and Policies Applied by the European Union Commission

In poor countries, access to affordable health care goes beyond the provision of cheap medicines and vaccines; it impinges on available health practitioners, the needed infrastructure, a forward-looking research strategy, and, above all, the deep understanding that no one should be deprived of medical attention. This important book considers such provisions and how policies and rules can be adapted at the national, regional, and international levels to meet the needs of patients in developing countries.
