Antihypertensive Drugs

Drug treatment of essential hypertension has a short but impressive history, with development especially taking place with respect to the efficacy of the antihypertensive effect, as well as the profile of adverse reactions. Divided into three sections, an up-to-date and detailed review of current antihypertensive drug development is provided. The first part, medicinal chemistry, covers current research on areas including the angiotensin II-receptor antagonists and renin inhibitors.
