Dating Late XIXth Dynasty Ostraca

In 1997 Jac. Janssen published Village Varia which examined the administration of workmen at the site of Deir el-medina from a prosopographical perspective. A semblance of order was therefore brought to the wealth of data coming from the site especially in terms of data. mark Collier's research builds on that of Janssen as he studies a corpus of 78 ostraca from Der el-Medina, attempting to identify the names of the workmen and trace their careers. His methodology and that of Janssen are discussed in detail as Collier seeks to further define the dating of late XIXth dynasty ostraca.
