12 Great Americans

Poetry. Multimedia. The audio CD 12 GREAT AMERICANS contains poetry readings by leading American countercultural poets. The poetry readings were recorded between 1966 and 1968 by Carl Weissner of the literary magazine Klactoveedsedsteen. Some of these recordings were published in 1972 on the now difficult-to-find LP "A Cold Turkey Special". This CD contains all poetry readings available on the LP plus 18 minutes of previously unpublished material taken from Carl Weissner's master tape of the LP. Contributors include: Ed Sanders, Allen Ginsberg, Diane di Prima, Ted Berrigan, Charles Bukowski, John Wieners, Paul Blackburn, John Giorno, Harold Norse, Ray Bremser, Jim Silver and Carol Berge. Total running time of the disc is 65:54.
