European Development Cooperation: In Between the Local and the Global

The foreign aid disbursed by the EU member states reached record levels in 2008, as several member states raised their assistance considerably and new ones began to contribute. This definitive study offers valuable new insights into previously established forms of aid, such as food donations, support for energy projects in Africa, and security-related assistance for smaller EU members, as well as an overview of new programs.
