Governing and Governance in Sweden

A critical assessment of the "Swedish way" of democracy, including a presentation of the central institutions such as Parliament, the courts and public administration as well as political parties, interest groups and the media. The authors compare the Swedish system with other European democracies and address how the system actually works in practice. They conclude with a discussion of how globalization and membership in the European Union have forced Sweden's political system to adapt to the new world order.
