Social Militarisation and the Power of History: A Study of Scholarly Perspectives

In this book, Swedish historian, Dick Harrison examines the scholarly treatment of three historical macro-regions: East Asia, Southeast Asia and Mesoamerica. By comparing three very different historigraphical patterns from the specific point of view of social militarisation, we gain an illuminating perspective. Also, the author presents his synthesis of the history of early medieval Europe as seen from the point of view of militarisation.
