THE BUZZARDS' ROOST AND OTHER POEMS

"The Buzzards' Roost" is a collection of poems, some ethnographic in nature, that recalls life in rural Southern Kentucky in mid-twentieth century. It was in a small-town country community that the author grew up and, in memory, never left. The people and places of this real and conjured community serve as backdrop for the author's observations of the larger world and for his own personal history.
