Heavy Metals in the Environment

Although there are workshops, conferences and symposia on many metals - from arsenic to zinc - the International Conference on Heavy Metals in the Environment (ICHMET) remains the only forum that provides an integrated perspective on research, technology and management of all heavy metals in a trans-disciplinary context. The 15th International Conference on Heavy Metals in the Environment (ICHMET-15) was held from September 19 to 23, 2010 at the Gdańsk University of Technology, Poland. This volume contains a sampling from the more than 300 papers submitted for presentation at the conference. The papers together provide a window into research being done - especially in central Europe - and solutions being proposed for dealing with the threat of trace metal pollution to ecosystems and our health. This volume should be of interest to anyone concerned about the global and regional dimensions of heavy metals in the environment.
