A group of Cubans meet every night in the doorway of a house in a village. They talk of their possessions, the realities of their country, and the environment in which they live. Things start to change for the protagonist when he receives a proposal of some kind of illegal and convoluted affair. Written in simple, straightforward language, this novel takes us to the shores of life, to those worlds away from urban centers.
