The ABCs of Proposal Writing and Conducting Academic Research in Applied Linguistics has been designed to meet the needs of students attending graduate programs (MA & PhD) who do not have enough experience in writing theses, dissertations, papers, and articles. The main incentive behind preparing this book, despite availability of different textbooks on the local and international markets, was to compensate for lack of a comprehensive and learner-friendly textbook and help those thesis/dissertation writers who want to manage the thesis/dissertation writing process effectively. This book provides novice researchers, especially in the field of applied linguistics, with a general picture of conducting academic studies, their contents, and forms then elaborates on details of related issues.This book with its clear diction and thorough information may be used as a textbook for courses like Research Methods, Seminar, and Advanced Writing in graduate programs of applied linguistics.

The Authors:
Seyyed Ali Kazemi holds a PhD in TEFL. His most famous books are Language Teaching Practicum and General English for University Students. He is a translator for The Islamic World in the New Century for which he won the best book award. Dr. Kazemi is a member of Young Researchers and Elites Club. He has published numerous articles in many international journals and presented lectures at various national and international conferences. He has taught English at universities and trained teachers around the country. He is on editorial boards of some internationally recognized journals including English Language Teaching (Scopus-Indexed, Canada), International Journal of Applied Linguistics and English Literature (ISC-Indexed, Australia). Leila Zarei holds an M.A. in TEFL. She has taught English at different institutes and universities and has published some books and articles. Her areas of interest are research methods, statistics and teaching methods.

Mohammad Sadegh Bagheri holds a PhD in TEFL from Shiraz University. He has published scores of books and articles mainly on international exams, teacher training and research methods.
