Fragments of Memory: From Kolin to Jerusalem

Hana Greenfield, a survivor of Terezin, Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen, has revised and expanded her moving book Fragments of Memory.

Written over many years as memories flashed through her mind, the book evokes a time, a period and emotions that should not be forgotten. Many of the stories have appeared in magazines and journals around the world, in different languages.

Formerly an art dealer, Greenfield chose art painted in the concentration camps to illustrate her stories. Where Anne Frank's narrative stops at the moment of her family's arrent and deportation, Greenfield takes the reader into the heart of darkness, the Nazi death camp system, and shows what is was actually like through the eyes of a teenage girl. Fragments of Memory is not meant to shock, but to teach the many lessons which can be learned from the Holocaust.
