How do the trees know when to bloom? How do they do know when to shed their leaves? How is it that there are no identical flowers on two different trees? Who decides which flower each tree will have? Who determines the colour of the fruit? Who designs the shape of the fruit? Who decided that the magnolia tree should have white flowers, and that the pine tree should have a fruit with a unique cone shape? Why doesn't the lemon tree grow apples? To most of us these questions remain a riddle, and we consider these riddles as wonders of nature.
