Taming People's Power: The Edsa Revolutions and Their Contradictions

Published in the 19th-20th centuries as small dictionaries (Castren 1858) and word collections (Donner 1955, Dulson 1961, Helimski 1986) word materials on Yeniseian languages (Arin, Assan, Ket, Yugh, Kott, Pumpokol), including Small Ket School Dictionary (Werner 1993) and Small Comparative Dictionary of Yeniseian Languages (Starostin 1995), cannot meet any more the needs of contemporary Yeniseian research at the present level and with the prob-lems under study. The author of the present comprehensive Vergleichendes Worterbuch der Jenissej-Sprachen (Comparative Dictionary of the Yeniseian Languages) tried to fill the gap giving wide word material with ethymological comments and many Proto-Yeniseian reconstructions. The third volume contains also the Yeniseian onomastics and an English-Yeniseian and German-Yeniseian index.
