Two Thousand Years of Coptic Christianity

This survey of twenty centuries of the Coptic Church combines material from Meinardus' two studies Christian Egypt, Ancient and Modern (1965) and Christian Egypt, Faith and Life (1970). These works have been revised and updated and form an authoritative study of the history and traditions of the Coptic church, of its theology, structure and churches and monasteries both ancient and modern.
