[Description in English]
Investment, taxes and tariffs in the Argentine electricity sector 1990-2010
The electricity shortage problems faced by the Argentine economy since 2006 were a consequence not only of exceptional economic growth but also of insufficient investment to keep pace with that growth and resulted in the sector largely coming to depend on the capital stock accumulated during the previous period. The works included in this volume adopt that frame of reference and analyze the behavior of investment in electricity, the tax treatment applied to the electricity sector by the various levels of government, the allocation of specific tax resources and the tariff differences existing between provinces.
