HKDA Global Design Awards 2016

In 2016, the Hong Kong Designers Association (HKDA) enters its 45th year. Coincidentally, this will also be the 40th anniversary of the Global Design Awards (GDA). In celebration of these prestigious institutions, the 'Design NextGen Awards' and 'Best Design Teacher' awards have been established to acknowledge the importance of design education in the academic world.

In addition to this 2016 will be the year that HKDA launches the 'Lifetime Honorary Award': an accolade dedicated to Dr Kan Tai Keung, who has contributed to the design industry for almost 50 years. With these awards, HKDA not only aims to further promote the field of design but to provide fertile soil for networking, allowing like-minded designers to connect and compete.

HKDA Global Design Awards 2016 Annual Book 6500°K covers over 200 awarded works in 4 main categories - Digital, Graphics, Products (incl. Fashion), and Spatial & Environmental - with a further total of 41 related sub-categories. The book presents each prize winner alongside the story of its development from inspiration to execution, and the professional commentaries of 14 world-class judges.
