National Highway 318 is the longest highway in China. It stretches from People's Square of Shanghai to Zhangmu inTibet, a total of over 5000 km, crossing over eight provinces, displaying ecoscapes in their entirety - natural geographical features like geologic faults, fountains, fossils of ancient creatures, mountain clusters, canyons, glacial remnants, earthquake ruins, volcano and lava structures, estuaries, lakes, rivers, wetlands, waterfalls, forests, grassland, floral fields, wildlife habitats as well as historical and religious architectures of cultural interests with such varieties and diversities that is rarely found elsewhere.
